I had some real fun times last week on an Angel Flight. I hope to right about that soon. "Yes - I'm tired. Am I too tired?" or "yes, the weather COULD be terrible, how likely is it to actually be terrible?" I stewed over a trip to western MI a couple of weeks ago. Reading forecaster commentaries on the convective forecasts showed that even the forecasters were VERY uncertain about what was going to happen (various models were not showing convergent outcomes). The potential for nastiness was high and one hour before departure time, I made the call to drive nine hours rather than fly four. Then, of course, I obsessively monitored the weather to see if I made the right choice. When Grand Rapids, MI reported tornado touchdowns that afternoon, I decided that it was the right call. But there was a lot of mental churn on it before the decision was made. Maybe that will improve with experience.

I'm glad that it all worked out well for you and very sorry to hear that the family got a rough ride. Hopefully, that will not be a deterrent for future flights together. But, hey, you're the shrink, not me. :-)Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11846593737518887287noreply@blogger.com
